Maya Unlimited for Mac OS X
One of the big announcements from Steve Jobs' keynote address today at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference was that Alias will release Maya Unlimited for Mac OS X later this summer. Previously, only Maya Complete was available for OS X; Maya Unlimited includes the Complete package as well as special effects packages such as Maya Hair, Maya Cloth, Maya Fluid Effects, Maya Fur and Maya Live.
As drool-worthy as it sounds, Maya Unlimited retails for $6,999, so it's aimed primarily at animation professionals and production houses. But if you fall into that category and you're a Mac lover, this is definitely exciting news.
