Selecting by Numbers - A Way of Choosing Animation Schools
Sort Out Your Animation Career Objectives
Once you have these main objectives sorted out, then you need to look carefully at which animation college you want to attend. Many animation schools have fields of specialization that may attract you - or you may decide that you want to take more generalized animation courses and specialize later.Of course, geographical and financial considerations are important. You have to be able to realistically budget for animation college fees and living expenses, and traveling away from home may not be an option. However, you can always consider other possibilities, such as studying and working part-time, or studying at an online animation college, giving you the chance to work full time and study, or alternatively work part time, live at home, and study.
Grade Your Chosen Animation Schools
All these different factors can be very confusing, but one way to deal with this confusion is to list all the animation schools you have examined, and make a list of your important issues.Award each animation college a score between 1 and 10 for each factor; you will end up with a graded list. This will allow you to work out which colleges are worth applying to - but remember, acceptance at animation college can be a numbers game, so make sure you apply to more than just your top five animation schools.
Of course, being accepted by one of your animation schools is only the first step in your animation career, but it is one of the biggest hurdles you will need to overcome, so after this you are on your way!
