Animation School--The Disney Method

Disney’s “Animation School” More of an Animation History Lesson

Although Disney’s “animation school” is not for serious animation students, it does provide an interesting history of the Disney technique and the work involved in creating an animated film. Serious animation students could think of this attraction as more of a history class than an actual class on technique.

3D Animation Schools Prepare Students for the Future

If you’re a serious animation student, you’ll of course have to spend many years honing your own animation techniques. These days, any animation student that wants to create career opportunities for themselves will make sure they attend an animation school that also offers courses in computer animation. 3D animation is quickly becoming the default animation technique in the animation film industry. As a result, there are a number of 3D animation schools out there that serve as launching pads for next generation animators. Animation studios, in their quest to find professionally trained computer animators, often set up recruiting programs at 3D animation schools.

So during your next 3D animation school spring break, take a trip to the MGM studios theme park and take a mini-course on Disney animation. The experience might not improve your technique, but taking a step into the magical world of Disney might give you some needed inspiration.
