Animation Schools and Studios Partner for the Better

An Important Relationship

One of the best parts of animation school is how close the animation industry stays. Many animation studios visit campuses, key animation job leaders give talks, and workshops are even run by the studios at animation schools. The industry stays close to animation schools, which keep courses current and students inspired.

Often, these animation studios get free advertising from these animation school partnerships, and the animation schools get animation job leads for their students. It’s a beneficial relationship that keeps the animation industry growing.

Animation Jobs for New Graduates

Some animation industry experts are worried that animation studios, some driven by corporate growth and bottom line thinking, are pressuring animation schools to train their students in specific software programs only, to be pigeonholed in “worker bee” animation jobs. However, these entry-level, sometimes tedious animation jobs are the starting points for great careers in animation, and are essential to the growth of animation students after graduation.

Art v. Business in Animation

Wherever art mixes with business, there will always be conflict. The truth remains that young animators need popular software skills (CAD, Photoshop, Flash, etc.) in order to get animation jobs right after animation school. These animation jobs aren’t permanent, but are a great way for their careers to begin.
