Discreet Announces 3ds Max 7
Today, Discreet announced the latest version of its popular 3D modeling, animation, and rendering software, 3ds max 7. New features are designed to boost both creativity and workflow productivity; they include the integration of Discreet's advanced character motion toolset character studio, normal mapping (a workflow accelerator for gaming), Edit Poly Modifier (tool to create complex polygonal surfaces more quickly), and much more.
Apparently the public unveiling will be next week at the SIGGRAPH exhibition in Los Angeles. But you can sign up today on the Discreet site to be notified when a free 30-day trial is available for download. The full version of the software is expected to ship sometime in the Fall.
