Animation Fashion
Fashion Models in 3-D Animation
Using animation in fashion is an extension of the normal drawing and illustration figures that are used in the early design process of fashion design. To work out the effects of movement on shapes and fabrics, 3-D animation can be useful. It can also be used to model the "finished" articles, very effective if the designer has a global market and wants to be able to model designs before they are shown on the catwalk. In some cases, when garments are to be manufactured in countries other than where they were designed, animated illustrations of the garments are used for their 3-D effect. This allows the garment manufacturer to have a much more complete specification of the garment they are manufacturing.
Celebrity Caricatures
An increasingly popular extension of this idea is to use celebrity caricatures as models. Celebrities can "rent out" their caricatures for uses such as this, making the show more interesting and more realistic to the viewer. These new applications of animation are creating more animation career opportunities, making an animation career even more attractive. Animation schools are fostering this diverse approach, and will often help you to develop ideas for new animation career opportunities.
