Anime Inspires Girl to Pursue Career in Animation
Animation Career Inspired by Anime Mimicking
Rebecca Sears is the president of the Anime Club at her high school in Greenacres, Florida. She has been crazy about anime ever since she saw her first anime movie at the age of 2. By being such an avid anime fan, Sears has learned a lot about the drawing techniques that make anime such a unique form of animation. These impromptu “drawing classes” have helped her become a better artist, and have convinced her to pursue an animation career or a career in graphic design.
Animation Career and Anime: Chicken or Egg?
Rebecca’s thoughts of pursuing a career in animation may not stem solely from anime. She has always liked to draw, and even created her own comic strip about a vampire named Sabi Hellson in the 5th grade. Her other hobbies include acting and singing, so it appears as if she may be suited to an artistic profession.
Jumpstart Your Animation Career
While Rebecca Sears improved her drawing skills organically through her interest in anime, you can speed up the process by enrolling in an art or animation school. If you want a career in animation, you’ll need a thorough education in drawing and computer animation—which has become the dominant animation medium. You can pick up these skills in no time at a reputable animation school, and those that work can often learn these necessary skills through online animation programs.
Although you may not have been the president of your anime club in high school, you can still land a career in animation with a little effort and talent.
