Animation Salaries on the Rise

Higher Demand Increases Animation Salaries

Prior to this time, the labor demand for computer animation was mostly in the gaming industry. Now, with large animation studios like DreamWorks apparently looking for 200 new animators, competition for new hires is starting to get pretty tight. Currently, principal computer animators are generally paid around $175,000 annually. Now that there are 25-30 new computer animated motion pictures scheduled for release in 2007, a huge jump from the previous year, animation salaries are expected to rise even higher and faster than ever.

High Computer Animation Salaries Give Incentives to Students

Those currently attending animation schools are probably starting to feel a bit more loved. Animation studios are beginning to reach out to animation schools in order to help them prepare future animators, and also to recruit new workers. Those students graduating this year from one of the many animation schools who exhibit a lot of talent will probably see some pretty lucrative job offers with increased animation salaries.
